Alphanumeric Paging service provides your customers with immediate and accurate information. Alphanumeric paging gives subscribers detailed text messages -so they know what is required of them instantly, without having to make a make an unnecessary phone call.

Alphanumeric Paging Features

  • Text messages up to 240 characters long. Subscribers can receive text messages up to 240 characters long in a hand-held unit. 
  • Message recall. Messages are not lost, even if the pager is turned off or out of range. Subscribers simply dial toll-free into the SkyTel System to retrieve messages for up to 4 days after they were sent. 
  • Email notification. Subscribers receive notification of e-mail right on their pagers, with a complete display of e-mail sender, subject, and text. 
  • Toll-free calling. All US-based calls into the SkyTel System are toll-free, for both subscribers and the people paging them. Subscribers can also access the SkyTel System toll-free from over 40 countries (surcharges may apply). 
  • News Service. News and business information is transmitted directly to the pager four times a day and whenever a big story breaks. 
  • Flexibility for sending messages. Message senders can broadcast one message to multiple subscribers, prioritize urgent messages and program messages for future delivery for time-zone differences. 
  • Ease of use. Every call your customers or their callers make into the system provides step-by-step voice prompts. 
  • Reliable message delivery. The fully redundant SkyTel System has dual central computers, two satellite uplinks and downlinks, and multiple transmitters. Computer, telephone, and satellite technology are combined with fail-safe power sources to make sure that every message is transmitted.

Coverage Options

  • Metro Service: Coverage in one of 48 metropolitan service areas. Includes one or more major cities. 
  • Regional Service: Simulcast service in one of six geographic regions: East, Southeast, Central, Southwest, West, or Midwest. 
  • Nationwide Service: Simulcast service in thousands of cities and towns across the US. 
  • Nationwide Now Service: Subscribers have the option to use temporary nationwide coverage on an as-needed basis, when travel takes the subscriber out of the selected service area. This is a cost-effective alternative to nationwide service for the occasional traveler. 
  • International: SkyTel International Service allows subscribers to receive messages in over 20 countries around the world and can be used in conjunction with any U.S.-based one-way coverage plan.

Message Sending Options
Callers can:

  • Send a numeric message using a touch-tone phone. 
  • Send a voice mail message; the subscriber will be notified on his/her pager and can retrieve the message via a toll-free phone call. 
  • Dictate a text message to a Customer Messaging Agent, 24 hours a day. The complete message is immediately sent to the subscriber's pager. 
  • Use the web site messaging feature. Send e-mail messages via the Internet by sending messages to PIN@mobilemessage.com. 
  • Use SkyTel Access® Software from a modem-equipped PC. 

Hardware Features

  • FLEX™ technology for longer battery life -- up to 5 months on one AA battery. 
  • Choice of several musical tones or a silent vibration alert. 
  • Ability to store up to forty, 240-character messages.
