error messages. What am I doing
wrong?

Make sure you
are typing the correct PIN. The PIN should be entered
without any spaces or punctuation. Enter all digits
including the toll-free prefix if applicable.
If you have included a
PIN as a reply address, make sure that this number is
valid as well.

Is it possible to send to more than one
person at a time when using the Send a Message form?

Yes. When using
the messaging form, separate the addresses using ";"
(semi-colons). For example: 1234567;1234568

is it possible to specify more than one device for the
reply?

Yes. Use the same method
for specifying multiple recipients
as described above. For example: my_address@my_email.com; 1234567

How many people can I send
to at one time?
|
|
It depends. A messaging
group can contain, at most, 20
SkyWriter® addresses, and 50
addresses total. This means you can
send a message to 20 SkyWriter®
addresses and 30 SkyWord/SkyWord
Plus addresses at the same time, or
up to 50 SkyWord/SkyWord Plus
addresses. Please note that Response
addresses count as part of your 50.

Why is it I can now only
receive about 20 characters/numbers
per message on my SkyWord or SkyWord
Plus messaging unit?

It's likely your company
provided an alphanumeric pager but
has only purchased "Numeric
Service". This is a service we
provide to your company that allows
them to send you alphanumeric
messages via a special code, but you
can only receive numeric messages on
the personal level. Until recently,
this limitation was not applied to
web messaging. If this is not the
case with your SkyTel service,
please contact Customer Service at
1-800-SKY-USER.

I have a SkyWord Plus and a SkyWriter®
pager with the same PIN. How do I send a message to
each device type?

Add the device type to the
end of the pin. To do this, add a
comma and then a 1 for SkyWord, 2
for SkyWriter®, and 4 for SkyWord
Plus. For example, to send to both a
SkyWord Plus and a SkyWriter® device
with the same pin, you can send to:
1234567,4;1234567,2

What are "Custom
Responses"?
|

Customers with
the SkyReply® feature added to SkyWord Plus, or with
SkyWriter® service have the ability to reply to the messages
they receive. If you would like to provide the person
with a list of possible responses, enter the responses
in the fields provided when you click on Show Custom
Responses. Responses should be 15 characters or less.
