This program
is designed for the true ground-up developer, allowing you to send and receive
data over SkyTel's nationwide two-way data network. SkyTel provides an XML-gateway
to its wireless network to transport data to and from your assets. You procure
and program your own remote terminal units (RTU) using transceiver developer
kits from approved manufacturers, build your own application that interacts
with our XML-based network gateway using the WCTP protocol.

What's
my first step?
Please contact SkyTel Telemetry Services toll-free at 1-800-395-5796, or
email us at telemetryservices@skytel.com. Together, we'll determine if SkyTel
Telemetry Services is a good fit for your business. We'll also discuss how
to implement a solution and, if appropriate, begin planning:
- SkyTel can support
your development team to build your application.
- We may be able
to direct you to a third-party provider with an appropriate application
already in place, available for purchase.
- SkyTel can contract
and develop a solution for you, or we can recommend a third-party developer
to write the application.

How
do I order the Developer's Kit?
From Karli and Barran from Advantra
International. Working in conjunction with
the ReFLEX™ wireless carriers in the U.S., Advantra developed two OEM
ReFLEX™ telemetry radio modules: Karli and Barran. The devices differ
primarily in size: The smaller Karli module is 1.52" x 1.96", and the
Barran is 3.07" x 1.96". Both are easily integrated into many existing
applications, and are designed specifically for ReFLEX telemetry, supporting
the ReFLEX 2.7 protocol.
